I graduated from the Faculty of Medicine of Semmelweis University with summa cum laude honors. Following my work at the University’s Doctoral School and the 1st Department of Surgery, I obtained my Ph.D. degree in a research field related to hepatic surgery. I completed my surgical residency training at the Department of Surgery of Petz Aladár University Teaching Hospital in Győr, and subsequently passed my general and abdominal surgery board examinations again at Semmelweis University with an “excellent” result. I currently work full-time as a board-certified surgeon with a Ph.D. degree at the Department of Abdominal Surgery of the Surgical Oncology Center, National Institute of Oncology.
My main professional interests lie in abdominal oncologic surgery, particularly hepato-pancreato-biliary surgery and colorectal surgery, as well as minimally invasive (laparoscopic and robot-assisted) surgery and one-day abdominal surgery. I have participated in numerous short professional training courses and workshops in the fields of liver and pancreatic surgery, colorectal surgery, as well as hernia and biliary surgery.
I am a member of the Hungarian Surgical Society and its Young Surgeons’ Section, as well as the European-African Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Association and the International Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Association. I am a regular participant and speaker at national conferences and a regular attendee at international conferences.
Based on the experience gained in recent years, I have developed a particular interest in day-case abdominal surgery. I especially enjoy performing laparoscopic and open hernia repairs and laparoscopic cholecystectomies, as well as, secondarily, minor outpatient surgical procedures under local anesthesia and providing surgical consultations. I firmly believe that the surgical treatment of benign diseases can lead to significant benefits and improvements in patients’ quality of life—whether it concerns everyday comfort, unrestricted work activity and dynamic sports participation, or normal, unhindered eating.
My surgical philosophy is the integration of well-informed, up-to-date, evidence-based surgical thinking with precise and refined technical skills. In my work, I strongly value collaboration with my patients based on partnership, as well as open, clear, honest, and empathetic communication.
In my free time, I enjoy sports, including football, cycling, snowboarding, and skiing.
