I was born in 1966. I graduated in medicine from Semmelweis University in Budapest in 1990, and have also completed further qualifications in psychiatry (1994), psychotherapy (1996), and business consultancy (2000, PriceWaterhouseCoopers), a PhD (2002), and a specialization in psychiatric rehabilitation (2005). I worked for the National Institute of Psychiatry and Neurology (NIPN) in Budapest for 12 years (1990-2002). I am an author of more than 100 publications and the co-editor of several academic books. I am also the former medical secretary of the Hungarian Psychiatric Association. My research interest is primarily devoted to impulse control disorders, depression and schizophrenia. I have worked as the chief psychiatrist, associate professor and clinical deputy chairman at the University Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Psychiatry at NIPN, where I developed the Active Training Program with my colleagues, which now serves as a proof concept for the practice for psychiatric residency training in Hungary. I have also attended several training courses abroad, including the fellowship of the American Psychiatric Association in 1995 in Washington DC in Government Relation Management and NIMH, Problem Based Learning Training in the Department of Education Research at Allegheny University in Philadelphia in 1997 and Evidence Based Medicine Trainings in Copenhagen in 1998. I was an investigator of different antipsychotics and antidepressants in Phase III trials between 1995-2002. I received a Medicina Nivo Price and a Goldschmidt Price as a reward for two academic publications (in 2005). I joined Eli Lilly’s company directly in the Area Medical Center Vienna in 2002 for regional clinical research activities. My main fields of practice: psychiatry, psychotherapy, depression, anxiety disorders, eating disorders, impulse control disorders, couple counselling, schizophrenia. My spoken languages are Hungarian and English.
