About me

I decided to become a surgeon when I was still a child. Even in secondary school, I chose an advanced curriculum in biology and physics at a school where I could also study Latin, as I knew this was the path I wanted to follow. At the time, surgery was a highly respected profession, both professionally and socially, and I was always drawn to the idea of healing with my own hands. There is something truly unique about being able not only to diagnose a disease and prescribe treatment, but also to step into the operating theatre and, in some cases, save a patient's life through surgery. Once you have experienced that feeling, I believe it never leaves you.

I became board-certified in General Surgery in 2002. My decision to specialize in vascular surgery came about partly by chance. After leaving my first position, I joined the 3rd Department of Surgery at Semmelweis University, where I was asked to spend my first year in the vascular surgery unit due to a shortage of specialists. It soon became clear that I had a talent for the specialty, and on the recommendation of my mentors I began training to become a vascular surgeon. I completed the required clinical training at the Városmajor Heart and Vascular Center, where I was subsequently offered a permanent position.

This was how I found myself at one of the country's leading vascular surgery centres, where an entirely new professional world opened up to me. I was inspired not only by the exceptionally high clinical standards but also by the dedication, professionalism, and supportive atmosphere created by my colleagues. I became board-certified in Vascular Surgery there in 2007 with distinction. One of my greatest professional achievements is that, in less than ten years, I was appointed Head of Department at one of Hungary's leading vascular surgery centres.

My practice extends far beyond the treatment of varicose veins. I evaluate and manage patients with a wide range of vascular conditions, including peripheral arterial disease, aneurysms, and other complex vascular disorders. When a patient's condition requires highly specialized care outside my field, my extensive professional network allows me to refer them to the most appropriate specialists, ensuring they receive the best possible treatment.

To me, an excellent physician is someone who is precise, continuously up to date with the latest developments in their specialty, and never stops learning. Equally important is the ability to listen carefully, understand each patient's concerns, and explain their condition and treatment options clearly and honestly. I have never believed in a paternalistic or overly informal approach, but I do believe that a little humour can help ease anxiety and make patients feel more comfortable. Above all, I believe that a doctor should remain calm, confident, compassionate, and genuinely committed to their profession. Patients should feel that their doctor truly understands what they are going through and loves what they do. That is what builds trust, credibility, and ultimately a successful partnership in the healing process.
