I graduated from Semmelweis Medical University (1974-80; summa cum laude). I completed a specialization in oto-rhino-laryngology in 1984, in allergology-clinical immunology in 1999, and in audiology in 2005.

I work at the Department of Oto-Rhino-Laryngology; Head and Neck Surgrey at Semmelweis University, Faculty of Medicine, as associate professor and deputy manager. I became Head of the Department of Oto-Rhino-Laryngology and Maxillo-facial Surgery of Ssent János Hospital in 2005. I received my clinical training at a number of international universities, hospitals and professional courses. I received a scientific scholarship from the University of Toronto, Canada. My scientific degrees were completed in 1994 (Ph.D) and in 2009 (habilitation). I have been teaching for over 22 years, and am an active and invited faculty member in the graduate and post-graduate courses and lessons of four Hungarian Medical Universities. I am a member of the Hungarian Professional College of Otolaryngology, President and Board Member of the Rhinologic Section of the Hungarian Society of Oto-Rhino-Laryngology, Head and Neck Surgery. I am also the member of numerous international societies and working groups, and have been elected as the editorial member of three reviewed professional journals. I am an invited speaker and faculty member at many different national and international congresses, where I am an active participant as well. My scientific publications number 106, including chapters in textbooks.

My main fields of interest comprise rhinology (diseases of the nose and paranasal sinuses), nasal polyposis, snoring, rhinosinusitis and endoscopic surgery. Besides these, I enjoy other fields of oto-rhino-laryngology, including oncology and head and neck surgery.

My little leisure time is devoted to sports (soccer, tennis, bicycle, skiing), travelling, music and theatre. I am married, bring up four children. I speak English and German.
