When should you request a 15-minute visit to the RMC Vacation Online Counselling?
- If you are unsure about the severity of your symptoms, you can wait until the end of your holiday to see a doctor in person (e.g., you forgot to take necessary medication, a fever, a worrying symptom during your pregnancy, etc.)
- If you want reassurance that you have had all the necessary vaccinations before you leave (check your vaccination book).
- If you can visualize the symptom to the doctor via video or phone (e.g., rash, skin lesion - in the latter case, our doctors can guide you on how to treat the wound).
- If you can summarize the symptoms briefly and verbally (and the doctor does not need to review previous records).
- If you can talk to your doctor in a quiet and well-lit room (in case of a video visit) for 15 minutes.
When is it advised to come in for a more extended or physical examination?
- If your doctor determines that you need an additional in-person examination during the 15-minute RMC online consultation for vacation.
- If you have a complex problem that is difficult for the doctor to interpret over a screen or the phone.
