Pediatric Nephrology

Our pediatric nephrology department deals with kidney-related illnesses and conditions occurring during childhood.

Pediatric Nephrology

Common problems include various urinary tract infections (UTIs) and bedwetting for children aged five and above, which are often caused by abnormalities in the kidney. Kidney diseases are often hereditary, which is why it is particularly important for children to be examined if there is a family history of kidney-related illness.

When should you visit a pediatric nephrologist?

  • Kidney development abnormalities
  • Kidney stones, nephrolithiasis
  • Other illnesses associated with the kidneys
  • Urinary tract infections (UTIs)
  • Night-time bedwetting and other urination issues
  • High blood pressure

Tests available at our clinic:

  • It was particularly nice to not just have a quick check-up, but to get real attention. The doctor included our daughter in the conversation so she had a better understanding of what was going to happen. It's rare to have that kind of attitude.

  • Doctor Bense was very comprehensive and thorough both during the examination and in his explanations. I am glad that I was able to book an appointment with him for my son.
