Urology is the specialty dealing with the important detoxifying systems of urine secretion and draining in both men and women (kidneys, renal tubules, urinary bladder and urethra), and exclusively in the case of men, it is the field specializing in diseases of the reproductive organs (testes, epididymis, prostate, seminal vesicles and vas deferens, penis, accessory and sexual glands). One of the top specialties of our clinic is the diagnosis and treatment of bladder pain syndrome, which is done by our urology specialist, Dr. Sándor Lovász. This disease, known in scientific circles as IC/BPS (Interstitial Cystitis/Bladder Pain Syndrome) is estimated to affect approximately 100 thousand people in Hungary today, but no exact numbers can be known as it is an exceptionally underdiagnosed disease.
